Mid Summer Gallery Openning:
Knife River is home to a great creative energy. This
summer "Laurence Jones- Woodworker Designer"
gallery opens on Scenic 61 just to the northeast of
theKnife River RR overpass. He has asked me to put
mosaics on the walls and they will be available for
sale. Please stop by.
The Knife River Lutheran Church Memorial Garden
Pebble Mosaic is worth a stop. This was a
combination of my design and direction and had up
to 35 community volunteers.

Pebble Mosaic Workshops
It is May! Real May! Pebble workshop season
begins:
The Studio has moved!
This summer workshops will be schedualed based
on first call or email. Select a 3 day block and
request for
those days. After those dates begin to make it a
busy summer, additional 1 to 2 people can be
added to any of those established workshop dates.
The options are wide open for awhile. 125.00 for 3
days 10:00 until 3:30, unlimited additional hours
and materials included. Bring bag lunch, and
Another Knife River Community Pebble Mosaic
Project
for the new RR overpass will begin work in August
and
run through October. Based on our last experience
we are inviting some visitors to assist. There is no
charge and you will learn the process. We will
gladly accept donations which will go directly to
materials. Already we have vollunteers from a
Minnesota Mosaic Group that gathered at Chicago's
Society of American Mosaic Artists conference.

Artist Profile
Laura Stone has been doing mosaic work since 2001.
The Previous 20 years were engaged in drawing,
painting, exhibiting at college galleries and with
Bowery Gallery in New York and Groveland Gallery in
Minneapolis. She worked as Drawing Instructor for
Gustavus Adolphus College from 1989 -1994
additionally at Grand Marais Art Colony, Minneapolis
College of Art and Design, Minnesota Museum of Art,
Duluth Art Institute and DesMoines Art Center.
Arrowhead Regional Fellowship was awarded in 2004.
She lives 40 feet from Lake Superior surrounded by
rock gardens - in buildings once used for commercial
fishing.
